| Charges have been fled against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 17607 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 6 p.m. on Saturday (January 25).
The suspect Romeo Deshawn Senegal, 26, is charged with murder in the 496th State District Court. A booking photo of Senegal is attached to this news release.
The identity of the woman, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detectives S. Chettry and H. Martinez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found an unresponsive woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation determined the shooting was the result of an argument and Senegal was identified as the suspect. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Senegal was subsequently charged. Senegal was arrested on Sunday (January 26) without incident and booked into the Harris County Jail.
