| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 11300 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 4:30 p.m. last Friday (January 24).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Wu and Officer K. Stanley reported:
The male attempted to cross the freeway main lanes near the above address when he was struck by a white Mack MD642 tractor trailer truck traveling eastbound on the freeway. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
The driver remained at the scene and was determined not to be impaired. He was questioned and released, pending further investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
