CAUSE: Unintentional (cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a first-floor apartment and made an offensive attack. The utilities were controlled, and a primary search was completed. Crews ventilated the unit and brought the fire under control with smoke and fire damage contained to the apartment of origin. The fire started on the stove top while cooking and spread. One occupant was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. 45 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 26, 70, 29, 36, 52 and 61.
