WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: October 21, 2024, at 6:49 p.m.
WHERE: 9540 Kempwood Dr. 77080.
INJURIES: One civilian treated on scene.
PROPERTY SAVED: $183,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $185,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the first floor of an apartment building and made an offensive attack. They checked for extension and conducted a primary search. One resident was treated on scene by HFD EMS. The utilities were secured, and the fire was extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 31 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 69, 5, 11, 13, 96, 57 and the Village Fire Department.
