DAMAGE: $80,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke inside an apartment unit and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed, and the utilities were controlled. The nearby units were checked for extension. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents of the two affected apartments. 36 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 31, 64, 74, 84, 57 and The Aldine Fire Department.
