WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: October 14, 2024, at 5:43 p.m.
WHERE: 8412 Leamont Dr. 77072.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $500,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire heavy fire coming from a 2-story apartment building. They made an offensive attack and ventilated the roof. Additional units were requested for manpower and primary searches were completed. Crews rotated through Rehab until the fire was fully extinguished. Approximately 20 residents were displaced, with five apartment units burned. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the families. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 72 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 73, 82, 15, 68, 78, 10, 16, 21, 28, 33, 51, 75, 86, 76 and 24.
