Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 4700 Yellowstone Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run crash at 4700 Yellowstone Drive about 6:10 a.m. on Wednesday (October 23).

The suspect, Cedric Gerard Golden, Jr. 22, is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the 487th State District Court.  A booking photo of Golden is attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased female is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer J. Campbell reported:

A female pedestrian was walking in the street – not in a crosswalk – when she was struck by a black Dodge Challenger traveling at a high rate of speed.  The Dodge did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.  The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The Dodge was then involved in another crash at Lockwood Drive and Spur 5.  HPD South Central Patrol officers detained the driver, later identified as Golden, at that location.

After further investigation and consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Golden was subsequently charged for his role in the incident and booked into the Harris County Jail.
