ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Fire Fighter Foundation of Houston’s sole purpose to raise the funds necessary to purchase life-saving equipment for the Houston Fire Department. Since its inception in 2006 the foundation has donated more than three million dollars’ worth of equipment to the department. On the list of needs for 2024 are 25 FLIR K33 thermal imaging cameras for the Val Jahnke Training Facility.

Currently, the training center uses cameras that have been taken out of service from the field. These thermal cameras allow personnel to see through smoke, find victims, and monitor the fire’s spread thus potentially saving fire fighters’ and victims’ lives.

Cheniere Energy, based in Houston, has been a sponsor of the Foundation’s efforts for several years. They are providing the funding for the purchase of 18 of the 25 cameras needed. The Fire Fighter’s Foundation is providing the additional funds to complete request for 25 cameras.
