Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and observed an unresponsive male on a sidewalk.  He had suffered gunshot wounds.  Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

Investigators learned the male was advised of a shoplifting incident and located the theft suspect seated alongside another suspect.  The male confronted the suspects and an altercation ensued.  It escalated when the male used pepper spray on the suspects and then ran after the suspects down a sidewalk.  At some point, the two suspects fired shots at the male and then fled the scene on foot.
