Houston police are investigating a fatal crash in the 6400 block of South Gessner Road about 9:55 a.m. last Friday (September 20).
The deceased male is identified as Ali Sbaiti, 65.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer L. Ho reported:
Mr. Sbaiti, a pedestrian, was crossing the roadway – not in a crosswalk – near the above address when he was struck by a white Nissan Rogue traveling northbound. Paramedics pronounced Sbaiti deceased at the scene.
The female driver, 78, of the Nissan remained at the scene. She was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
