WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: September 14, 2024, at 2:22 a.m.
WHERE: 1333 Gears Rd. 77067.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.

DAMAGE: $400,000 in estimated property / content damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from a 2-story apartment building and made an offensive attack. They conducted a primary search and determined everyone was safely out of the building. Conditions deteriorated and all crews withdrew from the structure for defensive attack. CenterPoint was requested to secure the utilities.
The fire was brought under control and extinguished. The American Red Cross was requested for the displaced residents, with fire, smoke, and water damage to one unit; water damage to the unit below it; and smoke damage to two adjacent units. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 43 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 84, 15, 31, 64, 58, 67, 74, 96 and 30.
