House Fire in the Central Southwest Area

WHAT: House fire.

WHEN: September 10, 2024, at 5:32 p.m.

WHERE: 4100 block of Brookfield Dr. 77045.

INJURIES: One civilian injured and treated on scene.

PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.

DAMAGE: $200,000 in estimated property damage.

CAUSE: Under investigation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from a 1-story house. The fire involved a RV trailer and shed in the back yard and spread to the home. Crews made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. A civilian was attempting to extinguish the fire and suffered from burns. HFD EMS crews treated the individual on scene.

The house was ventilated and due to wind gusts and conditions inside the house, firefighters switched to a defensive attack. All crews evacuated the residence, and the fire was brought under control. They switched back to an offensive attack to fully extinguish it, rotating through rehab. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 42 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 47, 2, 59, 21, 37, 47, 48, 80, 24, 60, Rescue 10 and Rehab 25.
