Apartment Fire in The Sharpstown Area

WHAT: Apartment fire.

WHEN: August 26, 2024, at 2:25 p.m.

WHERE: 9213 Imogene St. 77036.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $185,000 in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: $25,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Unintentional (electrical).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from an apartment building. They located the fire inside the walls between two apartments and pulled the walls and ceiling to fully access and extinguish it. A primary search was completed, and the units were ventilated. The burn patterns were consistent with wiring located in the walls. CenterPoint was requested to secure the power. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the tenants in three of the damaged units. A fourth, unoccupied unit also suffered damage. 41 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 2, 68, 83, 10, 60, 73, 82, 51 and 57.
