House Fire in The Spring Branch Central Area

WHAT: House fire.

WHEN: August 22, 2024, at 6:28 a.m.

WHERE: 9300 block of Rosstown Way, 77080.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $385,000 in estimated property/contents saved.

DAMAGE: $15,000 in estimated property/content damage.

CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (gas leak).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene with light smoke coming from a 1-story house and a report of a possible gas explosion. They investigated and made an offensive attack. The fire was in an exterior wall by a laundry area and quickly extinguished. The utilities were secured, and the home was ventilated. A primary search was completed and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 36 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 5, 49, 50, 77, 38 and Hazmat 66.
