WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: August 18, 2024, at 2:35 p.m.
WHERE: 9400 block of Leader St. 77036.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $220,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $70,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (appears to be accidental).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. They ventilated the home and secured the utilities. A primary and secondary search were completed with no one found. Crews controlled the fire and pulled the ceiling to access and fully extinguish the fire. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 38 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 51, 2, 68, 83, 10, 73, 75, Rescue 10 and Rehab 17.
