WHAT: Condominium fire.
WHEN: July 16, 2024, at 5:49 a.m.
WHERE: 7400 block of Antoine Dr. 77088.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $210,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical malfunction in the attic).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the roof of a 2-story condominium. They conducted a primary search and stopped the fire from spreading to the nearby units. The crews made an offensive attack and secured the utilities. A safe area was established near an unstable wall and the firefighters rotated until the fire was extinguished, pulling the ceiling, and ensuring all hotspots were out. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 32 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 15, 4, 5, 13, 50, 67, 66, 30 and Rehab 17.
