Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 14100 Almeda Road about 5:35 p.m. on Monday (September 9).
The identity of the deceased male, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer D. Ortega reported:
The male was operating a black Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Almeda Road when he struck the back of a trailer being towed by a gray Ford F-250 pickup truck. Responding paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Witnesses stated the driver of the pickup truck and trailer was attempting to turn left from Almeda Road to go westbound on Foxshire Lane when the crash occurred. Witnesses also stated the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and was weaving in and out of traffic before the crash occurred.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the location, did not show signs of intoxication, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
