WHAT: Townhome fire.
WHEN: July 4, 2024, at 1:32 p.m.
WHERE: 4900 block of Vista Village Ln. 77092.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (improperly disposed coals from grill).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find a townhome on fire. The fire had started in a trash can near the garage and spread to the exterior and attic of the townhome. The crews extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. Firefighters remained on scene to ensure all hotspots were fully out. 20 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 4, 13, 67 and 50.
