Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 4712 Lockwood Drive about 4:25 p.m. on Monday (July 22).
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Herrera and M. Providence reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and located an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk next to a Metro bus stop. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Further investigation determined the victim had been involved in an altercation with a unknown black male suspect. During the altercation the male suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.
