Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 7400 Walker Street about 9:10 a.m. on Sunday (July 14).
The suspect, Jesus Ventura Lopez, 17, is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 337th State District Court. A booking photo of Lopez is attached to this news release.
The victim, 57, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective Z. Brumley reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence near the above address and found the victim with a gunshot wound. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim was outside his residence when he was shot by an unknown suspect(s) who fled the scene in a vehicle of unknown make or model.
Further investigation identified Lopez as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged in this incident. Lopez was arrested on Tuesday (July 16) without incident and was booked into the Harris County Jail. A second unidentified suspect remains at-large.
