A suspect charged and wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 945 West Little York Road about 5:25 p.m. on May 6 has been arrested.
The suspect, Deleon Delvontaye Davis, 25, is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court. A booking photo of Davis is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Damien Harris, 28.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detective A. Herrera reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Harris unresponsive in the parking lot. He had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Harris deceased.
Witness statements and evidence from the scene indicated Harris and the unknown suspect may have been arguing previously in the day. The suspect later shot at Harris, striking him multiple times, before fleeing the scene in his vehicle.
On May 7, detectives released surveillance photos of the unknown wanted suspect and vehicle to the public.
Further investigation identified Davis as the suspect in this case and, on May 29, a murder charge was filed.
On Tuesday (July 2), members of the HPD North Patrol Division Tactical Unit arrested Davis without incident and he was subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail.
