Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of two females and one male at 11831 Bellaire Boulevard about 4:15 a.m. on June 10.
The suspect, Alan Ernesto Ortega, 18, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated assault-serious bodily injury in the 230th State District Court. An April 2024 booking photo of Ortega, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 18, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The two female victims, 18 and 16, were transported to an area hospital in stable conditions.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives E. Ruiz and A. Montoya reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found a vehicle with gunshot damage and a male with multiple gunshot wounds in the backseat. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to the hospital. Two additional victims, one adult female and one juvenile female, were found with gunshot wounds and were also transported by paramedics to the hospital.
At that time, there was no known motive or suspect description.
Further investigation identified Ortega as the suspect in this case. Ortega was determined to have fired his weapon from inside the victims’ vehicle. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Ortega was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting. Ortega remains at -large.
