Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 9600 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 4:10 a.m. on Sunday (June 16).
The identity of the male victim, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Leon reported:
A witness stated the victim was operating a black Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the freeway at the above address when the motorcycle was struck by a white BMW 320i also traveling eastbound. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected into the grassy area off the freeway. The driver of the BMW lost control, crossed the grassy area and then fled eastbound on the freeway service road.
Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
