Office Building Fire in The Fairbanks / Northwest Crossing Area

WHAT: Office building fire.

WHEN: May 26, 2024, at 1:49 a.m.

WHERE: 4515 S. Pinemont Dr. 77041.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $1,950,000 in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: $100,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source (unspecified electrical short).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from a large 1-story office building with warehouses in the back of it. They opened the unit on fire and made an offensive attack. Crews checked for extension and conducted a primary search. Several skylights were opened for ventilation and additional HFD units were requested. The fire was quickly extinguished with no extension found. Firefighters ventilated the smoke from the building with fans. The fire appeared to have started in a faulty electrical outlet, catching pallets and their contents on fire. 51 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 2, 4, 5, 13, 38, 50, 62, 77, 66, 67 and 57.
