| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6100 Westheimer Road about 7:25 p.m. on Monday (May 13).
The identity of the deceased woman, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant V. Vo and Officer N. Duval reported:
A silver Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling eastbound near the above address when it failed to stay in a single lane and drove onto the sidewalk.. The Hyundai then struck two pedestrians, a male, 40, and a female (victim) walking westbound. The SUV then struck a light pole where it came to a stop.
The victims were transported to an area hospital where the woman was pronounced deceased and the male is in stable condition.
The female driver, 31, of the Hyundai exhibited signs of intoxication and was transported to an area hospital. No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
