Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of four men at 5110 Washington Avenue about 11:20 p.m. on March 2.
The suspect, Luis Gerardo Rios, 24, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault-serious bodily injury, and aggravated assault of a security officer in the 174th State District Court. Due to the close proximity of an off-duty Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was working extra employment at the location, Rios was also charged with aggravated assault of a peace officer.

Two victims, 29 and 24, were transported to an area hospital in stable conditions. Two other victims, 44 and 38, were treated at the scene and released.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives V. Gamez and A. Garcia reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and were advised Houston Fire Department paramedics transported two men with gunshot wounds to the hospital. Officers were then informed two other men had sustained minor gunshot wounds and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
A preliminary investigation determined two persons were escorted out of a bar and went to a nearby vehicle. The two persons were seen driving by the location in a dark-colored SUV and shots were fired towards the bar. The vehicle then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Further investigation, evidence from the scene and witness statements identified Rios as the suspect who was in the vehicle – an older model black Chevrolet Tahoe – and fired shots.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Rios was subsequently charged for his role in this incident. He remains at large.
