Suspect Charged, Wanted in December 2023 Fatal Shooting at 15515 Lee Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 15515 Lee Road about 9 p.m. on December 27, 2023.  

The suspect, Roberto Madrigal, 30, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 180th State District Court.  A December 2021 booking photo of Madrigal, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.  

The deceased victim is identified as Jahmar Sampson, 33.  A second male, 32, was transported to an area hospital and he’s expected to survive his injuries. 

HPD Homicide Division Detective J. Brown reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a business at the above address and found two men had been shot by an unknown suspect.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported both victims to an area hospital.  One victim, later identified as Mr. Sampson, was pronounced deceased by doctors on January 3.

Further investigation identified Madrigal as the suspect in this case.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and charges were filed.  Madrigal remains at-large.
