| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6500 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 12:25 a.m. on Saturday (February 24).
The deceased male has been identified as Jaime Betancourt, 26.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer J. Trevino reported:
Mr. Betancourt was operating a black Yamaha YZF motorcycle northbound on the North Freeway, failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a white Dodge Challenger. Betancourt lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. A third vehicle, a black Chevrolet Malibu, struck debris in the roadway.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Betancourt deceased. Both the driver of the Challenger and the Malibu remained at the scene and were questioned and released.
No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is continuing.
