Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 9923 Valley Club Drive about 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday (January 24).
The suspect, Schwin Rashad Hadnot, 36, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Hadnot is attached to this news release.
The deceased victim is identified as Roger Boutte, 40.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective S. Overstreet reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and found the victim unresponsive in the driveway. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Boutte, deceased. A second man, 41, was found nearby, also with a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
A possible male suspect, 36, who appeared to be intoxicated on an unknown substance, required immediate medical treatment and was transported to an area hospital.
A preliminary investigation indicated the suspect was with the two victims prior to the shooting.
Further investigation identified Hadnot as the suspect and, after contacting the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, he was arrested and subsequently charged for his involvement in this incident.
