WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 17, 2024, at 5:21 p.m.
WHERE: 200 block of E. 30th St .77018.
INJURIES: One deceased individual found.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $350,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find fire coming from a vacant 1-story house and forced entry. The home was ventilated, and the utilities were secured. The fire was controlled and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Upon investigation, a deceased civilian was found in a detached shed in the back of the house. The shed had been destroyed by the fire. 36 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 6, 30, 31 and 62.
