WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 8, 2024, at 4:41 p.m.
WHERE: 5100 block of Selinsky Rd. 77048.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $98,700 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $80,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find heavy fire coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack. A primary search was conducted, and the utilities were controlled. The crews extinguished the fire with winds and extreme weather conditions contributing to the fire spread through the attic. CenterPoint responded and controlled the power to the home. The American Red Cross was notified for the resident. 40 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 26, 46, 36, 40, 61, 55, 74, 24 and Rescue 42.
