WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 1, 2024, at 12:54 p.m.
WHERE: 12400 block of Windjammer St. 77072.
INJURIES: One civilian transported for non-fire related concern.
PROPERTY SAVED: $185,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $60,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (appears to be accidental).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find fire coming from a 2-story house and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed, and one resident was found unresponsive and removed to waiting EMS crews. They transported her to the hospital for what appeared to be a non-fire related medical concern. Crews ventilated the home and continued their search of the home. No one else was found. The fire was extinguished, and the power was secured. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 39 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 76, 69, 2, 68, 83, 10, 73, 75, 57 and Rescue 10.
