WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: December 21, 2023, at 9:58 a.m.
WHERE: 4700 block of Vernon St. 77020.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $75,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire coming from the first and second floor of a house and reset the fire. They entered the home and controlled the fire on the first and second floors. The utilities were controlled and several additional HFD units were requested. Crews extinguished hotspots inside the house and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 48 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 19, 20, 9, 12, 17, 27, 7, 30 and Rehab 17.
