WHAT: Residential garage fire.
WHEN: December 19, 2023, at 10:34 a.m.
WHERE: 2900 block of Gessner Rd. 77080.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $150,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a fire involving a duplex-style detached garage. They reset the fire through the garage windows and made entry. It was determined the roof was unsafe and crews exited to finish extinguishing the fire from a safe area. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 34 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 4, 5, 49, 77, 60, 30, 57 and Hazmat.
