Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 100 Canino Road about 2:45 p.m. on Sunday (December 17).
The identity of the deceased man, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. James and F. Serna reported:
The driver of a silver Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling southbound in the 7800 block of Airline Drive and ran the red light at the intersection of Canino Road. The Dodge then struck a blue Hyundai Sonata traveling eastbound on Canino, crossed the median into the northbound lanes of Airline and then struck a red Chevrolet Camaro, a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and a Ford F-150 pickup truck waiting at a red light on the northbound side of Canino. All three persons in the Dodge, including the driver, exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot without providing assistance.
The driver of the Hyundai was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. No other persons were injured in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
