CAUSE: Unintentional (kitchen/cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from the roof and eaves of a 2-story apartment building. Additional units were requested, and they made an attack on the fire. They forced entry and conducted a primary search. The crews found and extinguished the main body of the fire in the kitchen and ventilated the unit. The fire damage was contained to the kitchen area, originating on top of the stove with spread to the cabinets. 39 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 20, 26, 29, 36, 40 and 42.
