WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: October 19, 2023, at 5:27 a.m.
WHERE: 10800 block of Safeguard St. 77047.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $270,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $30,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (short circuit from mechnical damage).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke coming from a 1-story house. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. Fire was found on the outside patio and spreading to the home. The crews extinguished the fire and completed salvage and overhaul. 31 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 46, 35, 24 and 55.
