WHAT: Building fire.
WHEN: October 17, 2023, at 4:44 p.m.
WHERE: 2801 Sampson St. 77004.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.

DAMAGE: $10,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find a building with fire on the exterior. The fire appeared to have spread into the structure and possibly attic space. A primary search was completed, and the roof was ventilated. The building was boarded up and crews had to force entry. The fire was quickly controlled and extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 38 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 25, 23, 8, 46, 7, 16, 18, 24 and Rescue 42.
