CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find light smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building with sparks from an exterior electrical meter. They extinguished the fire on the meter and in the walls. A fan was used to ventilate the unit and CenterPoint was notified. 31 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 4, 50 and 62.
