Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3900 Juniper Street

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 3900 Juniper Street about 8:10 p.m. on Sunday (October 22).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer N. Kumar reported:

The male was in a wheelchair in the middle of the intersection of Juniper Street and Park Place Boulevard.  Several vehicles narrowly missed the male, but he was then struck by a dark sedan of unknown make and model traveling eastbound on Park Place.   The sedan’s driver slowed down and stopped a short distance away, but then fled the scene, failing to stop and render aid.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake where he was pronounced deceased.
