Investigation into Fatal Crash at 9200 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9200 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 8 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 5).

The identity of the female victim, 45, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer R. Guzman reported:

The victim was a passenger on a motorcycle traveling northbound on the freeway at the above address when the operator lost control, crossed multiple lanes of traffic and then laid down the bike.  The operator and passenger fell off the motorcycle.

Paramedics pronounced the female passenger deceased at the scene.  The male operator, 55, was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
