WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: September 21, 2023, at 7:14 p.m.
WHERE: 4500 block of Dewberry St. 77021.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $109,600 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $25,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (currently, appears to be accidental - electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find fire coming from a 1-story house and made a fast attack on the exterior. A primary search was completed, and crews extinguished the fire on the inside of the home. The house was also ventilated, and CenterPoint was notified to secure the utilities. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 36 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 25, 46, 23, 26, 40 and 44.
