| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 3:10 a.m. today (September 22).
The identity of the deceased male, believed to be in his 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer J. Best reported:
The driver of a blue Volkswagen Jetta was traveling southbound on the main lanes of the North Freeway near the above address. The male, a pedestrian, failed to yield the right of way, stepped in front of the vehicle and was struck. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
The driver of the Volkswagen remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
