WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: September 2, 2023, at 12:47 p.m.
WHERE: 9000 block of N. Jewel Bend Ln. 77075.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $252,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $60,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find some coming from a 1-story house. They checked for extension inside the house and found fire in the attic. There was extensive damage and charring to the attic, however, a broken water pipe helped to keep the fire from spreading and contained it. Crews extinguished the hotspots and shut off the utilities. The resident had been cooking on the patio when grease spilled causing a fire and spread. 23 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 52, 23, 70, 36, 61 and 29.
