Investigation into Fatal Stabbing at 5601 Royal Palms Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man found at 5601 Royal Palms Street about 12:30 a.m. today (August 31).  

The identity of the victim, 49, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Brady and M. Casso reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment at the above address and found the victim unresponsive and lying on the floor of a bedroom.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased from an apparent stab (not a gunshot) wound.  

Detectives would like to speak to the apartment’s tenant, described only as a black female, who is considered a person of interest.
