WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: August 13, 2023, at 12:11 p.m.
WHERE: 6300 block of Del Monte Dr. 77057.
INJURIES: No report injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $163,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $80,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find a light haze in a 2-story house. They pulled sheet rock to locate the source and conducted a primary search. Fire was found and extinguished in the structural wood; however, conditions did not improve. Additional crews and Rehab were requested. Additional fire was found on the exterior of the home extending into the attic. Firefighters rotated until the fire was extinguished and the hot spots were out. Fans were used to remove the smoke from the residence and the attic of the house, and a neighboring home were checked to ensure the fire had not spread. 56 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 51, 2, 5, 28, 38, 60, 69, 50, 37, Rescue 10 and Rehab 8.
