Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of two other men at 10549 South Post Oak Road about 2 a.m. on Sunday (July 30).
The suspect, Gabriel Adonai Garcia, 23, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 482nd State District Court. A booking photo of Garcia is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased male, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives B. Stephens, G. Zavala and J. Diaz reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a panic alarm at a bar at the above address and, upon arrival, determined a shooting had occurred. A man was found unresponsive and lying at the entrance of the bar with several gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. Two additional men, 36 and 22, also suffered gunshot wounds and were transported by paramedics to area hospitals to be treated. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arriving at the scene.
Further investigation identified Garcia as the suspect in this case. Garcia later turned himself in at the HPD Southwest Patrol Division Patrol Station without incident. He was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County jail.
