WHAT: Apartment fire.

WHERE: 211 W. 17th St. 77008.
INJURIES: A dog was treated on scene.

DAMAGE: $15,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find smoke coming from a second-floor apartment unit. They extinguished a fire in a bedroom and checked for extension. A citizen was attempting to save a dog and HFD crews helped to extricate and care for it. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 33 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 6, 31, 9, 11, 19 and 30.
