UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in June Fatal Shooting at 5600 Fairdale Lane

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 5600 Fairdale Street about 8:55 p.m. on June 13.  The suspect, Kendrick Thomas, 21, is charged with murder in the 183rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Thomas, already in custody on unrelated charges, is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Jesus Hall, 23.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Ledford and E. Torres reported:  HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Hall unresponsive and with gunshot wounds.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Hall deceased.  A preliminary investigation determined a large crowd of people was attending a pool party when an argument ensued between two unknown persons.  Both individuals exchanged gunfire and Hall was struck in the crossfire.  Hall attempted to run from the scene, but collapsed and was pronounced deceased.

Further investigation identified Thomas as a suspect in the case.  Detectives learned he was in jail for an unrelated incident.  Thomas was subsequently charged on Thursday (July 20) for his role in Hall’s shooting.
