Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 4938 Glenridge Lane

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4938 Glenridge Lane about 8:40 a.m. last Friday (July 7).

The suspect, Duwayne Fenix, 26, is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Fenix is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of Jermaine Hubbard, 41.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Detective D. Stark reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call and found Mr. Hubbard in the street outside a residence at the above address.  He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives were told Hubbard went to the residence to see his girlfriend and became involved in a verbal altercation with Fenix, who was already at the home.  At some point during the altercation, Fenix shot the victim and then fled the scene.  He was located later in the day, taken into custody and charged for his role in the shooting.
